CASPER, Wyo. — Casper’s ninth annual Lemonade Day was held across the city on Saturday, June 24, with young entrepreneurs setting up their lemonade stands and learning business skills.
The lemonade business day officially began at 8 a.m., with 38 registered stands across the community selling lemonade, cupcakes and other treats, depending on the stand.
Lemonade Day was founded in 2007 by Michael Holthouse in Houston, Texas. Since its inception in Houston, Lemonade Day has gone to support over a million children and ignite the “spirit of entrepreneurship.”
According to the Lemonade Day website, “Each child that registers receives a backpack with an Entrepreneur Workbook that teaches them the lessons of Lemonade Day like creating budgets, setting profit-making goals, serving customers, repaying investors, and giving back to the community.”
A prior kick-off event was held at Hilltop Bank’s main office on Wednesday, May 3, and a Best Stand Contest was held at Sutherlands on Saturday, June 17.
